ramer

Ramer is an unincorporated community of less than 2000 souls, located in south central Alabama, in Montgomery County. It is located about 24 miles southeast of the state capital city of Montgomery.

Originally known as Athens. When the town applied for a post office, Athens was already in use by a city in Alabama. Instead, the community became known as Ramer, which is the name of a nearby creek. A post office opened under the name Ramer in 1851.

Compared to the rest of the country, Ramer's cost of living is 22.9% lower than the U.S. average. While the region's political ideology leans towards conservative, Montgomery county voted Democratic in the previous five Presidential elections, typical of metropolitan areas.

October, May and April are the most pleasant months in the 36069 zip code, while July and August are the least comfortable months.
